Privacy

Privacy

THE NEW EUROPEAN PRIVACY REGULATION (GDPR) WILL ENTER INTO FORCE IN MAY OF 2018

THIS LAW IS BINDING

  • The goal of the GDPR is to give consumers control over their own personal information. But how?
  • The Personal Data Protection Act has been reinforced and new elements have been added. But which ones?

HERE ARE THE IMPORTANT ELEMENTS OF THE GDPR:

  • Uniformity of declarations: one Data Privacy Agency (DPA) from the country of the declaration’s origin acts as the leading organisation for the European declaration
  • European supervision of DPAs by the European Data Privacy Board (DPB)
  • Fines: up to 2% of an organisation’s global revenue in the event of a violation
  • Data Protection Officers (DPO): mandatory for organisations with more than 250 employees
  • The right to be forgotten: all personal data must be deleted upon request
  • Mandatory documentation of the Privacy by Design principle
  • Mandatory execution of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA)
  • Consumer/individual? They must be able to request insight into their personal information
  • Permission to use personal information: must be highly explicit and easy to understand
  • Data minimisation principles: are far stricter

QUESTIONS FROM OUR CLIENTS:

  • What does this mean for my organisation, now and in the future?
  • How can I be sure that I meet this new guideline and are there any tools available?
  • Must I modify or halt all my projects?
  • How can I prepare for this regulation and when should I start doing so?
  • What advantages can be achieved with the new GDPR and how can I achieve these?
  • How does this regulation support – rather than disturb – my operations?
  • How much manpower, money and lead time is involved?
  • What risks am I currently running and what risks will be added as a result of the new regulations?
  • What is my plan for the necessary changes?
  • Do I have sufficient knowledge of and experience with privacy to successfully implement changes?
  • Is this part of my core business or should I outsource it?
  • Is there a privacy dashboard available that I can use to continuously monitor my operations?

Business Agility

Business Agility

The world is changing ever more rapidly. The ability to adapt quickly therefore offers the best path to success. Many businesses have become entirely dependent on properly functioning software almost without realising it. Think of e.g. banks, airlines, the automotive industry, etcetera. Not everything can be planned (far) in advance and the ability to adapt continuously and quickly is therefore crucial. Agile is not a method but a mindset. As a result, it calls for organisational development!

BUSINESS AGILITY ALSO INVOLVES VERTICAL COOPERATION

Agile makes you more flexible

BUSINESS AGILITY ALSO INVOLVES VERTICAL COOPERATION

Many businesses have to deal with (excessively) high expenses and delays in their programmes and projects. Their efforts pertaining to service development and process improvement lead to insufficient results.

We also see that often even though “the business” participates in scrum teams, the management of development and the substantive preparation of the business (processes) are not satisfactory.

We have developed an approach with which we have already managed to implement important improvements for a number of our clients.

After introducing a working method developed in cooperation with our client, “the business” not only participates in scrum teams as business owner, but it is also capable of translating strategic choices into the right content for the development process. The people of “the business” are better able to create maximum value for their clients and maintain control of their innovation process.

The Approach

With our Bakkenist Agile-readiness Scan (BAS), we examine how your organisation might develop and how this change might take shape. Next, we will work together with you and your people to examine where and how the organisation might best develop. This helps reinforce the relationship between the boardroom and the work floor.

Bakkenist applies Agile in its organisational change and service development processes. Our people are certified SAFe Agilists. We stand out because of our pragmatic approach, decisiveness, creativity and the way in which we enable the people in your organisation to perform to the best of their ability.
